The BUS 411 Business Policy Seminar Case Study Assignment
This is the primary assignment for the course. In this assignment, you will be working in groups to devise a strategic response to the situation presented.
The case itself is based on actual events. These events and the people involved were the basis for scenario and the development of the characters involved. These events and reactions have been much more often presented in the realm of Business Ethics and a little research will confirm that (if you want to go that far…not required but you may find it interesting).
Read the case and as you do, understand that your role is to be the “consultant(s)” that the case refers to. You were coming to the company to work on strategic planning but now things have changed dramatically. Your job is formulate and present a viable strategy for the company and in doing so, integrate as many business principles and methods as you feel necessary.
Your work will be done in a pre-assigned group simulating the remote collaboration environment of many business projects. Your groups presentation of the strategy can take any form you wish that is acceptable for an executive-level presentation. You will be expected to use whatever written, oral, or technologically supported means necessary to complete the assignment.
In addition, each student will be expected to submit an individual written executive summary (or white paper) at the conclusion of the project documenting your individual findings and summary of the groups work.
